Dear Teams and Arbitrators,
It is with a heavy heart that we write to inform you that, as result of the growing concerns surrounding the spread of the Covid-19 Virus around the world, we had no other choice but to cancel this year’s Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court. The organisation of our academic host, the Max Planck Society, has issued a mandatory cancellation of all events involving a significant number of external visitors until Easter.
Until earlier today, we held out hope that the Moot could go ahead as scheduled. However, the events (unfortunately entirely outside of our control) of the past days and hours have meant that we now – with the overarching concern for the safety of all participants and arbitrators in mind – find it necessary to cancel the moot at short notice.
We know that you will have already invested time in preparing for next week. Your preparation is not in vain. Moresnet will return for the 2020/2021. If we find the moldy papers, the case study will be adapted. If not, it will remain the same.
Please let us know if you need any assistance with communicating with your Universities and sponsors regarding the cancellation — we will gladly help.
We hope to see you at next year’s Moot. Please stay safe and healthy until then.
